On June 4, 2013, Brian graduated from high school! It was a very proud day for us. The graduation was held at the Pensacola Bay Center. Susan’s brother and sister rented a condo on the beach and made a mini-vacation out of the event. We enjoyed visiting with all of the family. Brian has plans to enter the military soon. On August 20, 2011, we attended our first police ball. The ball was coordinated by Michael, who was the treasurer with the local lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police. About 100 people attended the ball. The mayor of Pensacola, the chief of police and two city council members also attended the event. The FOP presented awards to four officers. The event was really nice. Mike looks forward to planning the next one. To the right is a photograph of Mike and Susan at the ball. Click on the photograph to view the entire gallery.
On August 13, 2011, Mike and Susan attended their first red dress run. The run was hosted by the New Orleans Hash Harriers. Everyone was required to wear red dresses, including the men, to participate. The event started at Washington Square, which was near the French Quarter. Thousands of people attended the event. There were several bands, all you could drink beer and BBQ was catered. The funny part about the run, was that there was no run. At least that we saw. There was just a mass exit to Bourbon Street toward the end of the event. Click on the image to view the entire gallery of photographs.
Our family enjoys Halloween each year. Aaron looks forward to trick or treating with his friends in our large neighborhood. Since Michael never dressed up for Halloween as a child, Mike as some catching up to do. Susan and Mike has dressed up as T-pain and his bodyguard and Forest Gump and Jenny. While we were waiting in line, Brian gave blood for the first time. Brian wanted to get into a drawing the blood center was holding. Drew Brees was late. Drew Brees wrote a book following his win at the Super Bowl. We were not suppose to stop as we were walking by, but Brian was able to squeeze in a quick photograph by Drew Brees.
