FSU v. BYU 2010

On September 18, 2010, we went to a Florida State football game. FSU was playing Bingham fsubyu2010Young University. Last year, FSU beat BYU when they were ranked number five. Several of our friends went to the game with us. We met most of them for some tailgaiting before the game. FSU won the game 34-10. Later that night, several of us went out to celebrate the win over BYU. Here is a photograph of Susan and I right before the game.

Saints Championship Tour

On July 27, 2010, Susan brought Brian and Aaron to the Pensacola Civic Center. The Civic Center was hosting the New Orleans Saints Championship Tour. saintstourI had to work and was not able to make the tour. The Saints were showing of the Lombardi trophy after winning the Super Bowl. Here is a photograph of Brian and Aaron standing near the Lombardi Trophy. Notice the marine protecting the trophy.

Drew Brees Book Signing

On July 24, 2010, Brian, Aaron, and I went to a book signing by Drew Brees. The book signing drewbreeswas held at the Pensacola Barnes and Nobles. While we were waiting in line, Brian gave blood for the first time. Brian wanted to get into a drawing the blood center was holding. Drew Brees was late. Drew Brees wrote a book following his win at the Super Bowl. We were not suppose to stop as we were walking by, but Brian was able to squeeze in a quick photograph by Drew Brees.

FSU v. Maryland 2009

On November 21, 2009, our family went to see the Florida State football team play Maryland. fsumaryland2009Many of our friends from Pensacola went with us. There was a total of 18 of us at the game. Before the game we tailgated in the Boy Scouts parking lot. We had a shrimp boil for everyone. The game was very close. FSU won 29-26. This was the first college football game for some members of our group. This was a good game to be at! The excitement kept us on the edge of our seat. FSU v. Boston 2008

On November 15, 2008, we went to our second Florida State football game for the 2008 season. fsuboston2008FSU was playing Boston College. Brian was not able to attend the game with us. Brian’s football team made it into the playoffs. Brian opted to stay in Pensacola to play football with his team. Aaron’s friend, Peyton, went in Brian’s place. This game was Peyton’s first college football game. We met our friend, Erik, shortly before the game. Erik is also a FSU alumni. FSU loss to Boston 17-27. FSU v. Chattanooga 2008

On September 13, 2008, our family went to a Florida State football game. FSU was playing againstfsuchattanooga2008 the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Before the game we did some tailgating. We hung out, cooked some food and threw the football. I was able to buy some really good tickets from my coworker. We were sitting on the home side just 15 rows up. On the way to the stadium, Aaron found a ticket on the ground. Aaron sold the ticket for $5 to a scalper. FSU won 46 – 7. Here is a photograph of Brian and Aaron watching the game.

FSU v. Alabama 2007

On September 29, 2007, Susan and I drove to Jacksonville to watch the Seminoles play fsualabama2007Alabama. The tickets were hard to come by, so we were not able to bring the boys with us. This was a special game since the Seminoles had not played Alabama in over 30 years. The crowd set a record for the Alltel Stadium, which is where the Jacksonville Jaguars play. We met with several of our friends from his work. The Seminoles pulled through and beat Alabama 21-14! There was a lot of excitement because this was Nick Saban’s first year at Alabama. FSU v. UAB 2007

On 09/08/07, we traveled to Tallahassee to watch Florida State play the University of Alabama at fsuuab2007Birmingham. Brian opted to stay in Pensacola to play football with his team. Brian was the quarterback that year. Travis, one of Brian’s friends, went in his place.

Brian ended up getting hurt at his game, which was during the FSU game. Susan left the FSU game to be with Brian. Brian ended up being okay. He just had a stinger.

Senior Bowl 2007

Every January, Mobile, AL, hosts the Senior Bowl. The Senior Bowl is a college football game seniorbowl2007where seniors from the north play against seniors from the south. It is a chance for senior football players to showcase their talents before the NFL draft. In 2007, Brian and Aaron’s grandmother took them to the Senior Bowl. On January 25, 2007, they attended the fan celebration. Brian and Aaron were able to meet players, NFL cheerleaders and collect autographs. On the following day Brian and Aaron attended the game with their grandma and Phil. Gameday was a little rainy, but the boys enjoyed their time. FSU v. Clemson 2006

On 09/16/06, we traveled to Tallahassee to watch our first college football game. We wacthed fsuclemson2006Florida State play Clemson. The game was referred to as the Bowden bowl because Bobby Bowden’s son was the head coach of Clemson. We arrived early to do some tailgaiting. We parked in a Boy Scouts lot and tossed the football for awhile. Then we headed to the stadium to visit the numerous activities on the stadium grounds. The boys met some of the cheerleaders and Aaron got his face painted. The game was a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, FSU loss the game 27-20. Click on the photograph to view the entire gallery.
