Christmas 2010

The week of Christmas 2010, we traveled to New Orleans, LA, to visit with my family. We walked around the French Quarter to witness Christmas in New Orleans. We stopped at a hotel that was decorated real nice. We also went to Christmas on Fulton Street. Harrah’s Casino xmas20101decorates the street with Christmas trees, lights and fake snow. We also went to a concert that was held in the St. Louis Cathedral. The next day we went to a cooking demonstration in the French Quarter. We visited the Katrina Museum, which was breathtaking. For lunch we ate gyros near Bourbon Street. We capped off the visit with a nice ham dinner prepared by mom. The photograph on the right is of everyone in a French Quarter hotel.

After a busy three days in New Orleans we returned home to celebrate Christmas. We had a quite Christmas celebration with just the four of us. On Christmas morning Brian and Aaron woke up xmas20102around one in the morning. Susan got up and chased them back to bed. This Christmas was the biggest yet for the boys. Brian received a Macbook and Aaron received a 32″ LCD television for his room. My present was probably the best of all. I got four tickets to the Chick Fil A Bowl, which FSU was playing in. Susan would probably argue her present was the best though. She received a new Mazda 6 unexpectedly. The Mazda will replace the Honda she has been driving since 1998. Saints Championship Tour

On July 27, 2010, Susan brought Brian and Aaron to the Pensacola Civic Center. The Civic Center was hosting the New Orleans Saints Championship Tour. saintstourI had to work and was not able to make the tour. The Saints were showing of the Lombardi trophy after winning the Super Bowl. Here is a photograph of Brian and Aaron standing near the Lombardi Trophy. Notice the marine protecting the trophy.

Drew Brees Book Signing

On July 24, 2010, Brian, Aaron, and I went to a book signing by Drew Brees. The book signing drewbreeswas held at the Pensacola Barnes and Nobles. While we were waiting in line, Brian gave blood for the first time. Brian wanted to get into a drawing the blood center was holding. Drew Brees was late. Drew Brees wrote a book following his win at the Super Bowl. We were not suppose to stop as we were walking by, but Brian was able to squeeze in a quick photograph by Drew Brees.

LEO Torch Run

On March 29, 2010, I participated in the Special Olympic’s Law Enforcement Torch Run. The leotorchrun2010run is a benefit for the Special Olympics. The Torch is carried across the country. My department carried the torch from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office to the Pensacola Bay. We stopped at the Police Headquarters for a brief period. At Pensacola Bay, the torch was handed over to Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. FWC carried the torch to Gulf Breeze by boat. We ran about three miles all together. Here is a photograph of me running next to two of his coworkers.

Birthdays – Brian’s 16th and Aaron’s 11th

On February 17th and 18th, we celebrated Brian’s 16th birthday and Aaron’s 11th birthday. When birthdays2010the boys came home from school, we let them open their gifts. Aaron received a movie and a razor. Brian received his first iPod and a pair of monster beats headphones. Here is a photograph of Aaron opening his razor scooter.

Mall Ball 2010

On January 30, 2010, we attended the Mardi Gras Mall Ball. Like most years, we knew quite a few mallball2010people at the ball. For this ball, we rented two hotel rooms near the mall. After the Mall Ball we went to Emerald City to meet some of our friends that went to a different Mardi Gras ball. We had a wonderful time. Every Mardi Gras we look forward to the balls. Christmas 2009

Christmas 2009 was another wonderful Christmas with for our family. On December 12, 2009, we attended the Fraternal Order of Police Christmas party. Many of my coworkers were at the party. When the party closed, most of us went to Seville Quarter to dance.

The week of Christmas we went to Montgomery, AL, to spend time with Susan’s family. We had a xmas20091very nice time. On December 22, 2009, Susan’s family got together at her mother’s house. We ate a big dinner and finished the night playing dirty Santa. We received some nice presents. The photograph on the right is of Brian, Aaron and their cousins in Montgomery. When we left Montgomery, we brought Susan’s mom back with us so she could celebrate Christmas at our house.

I was able to be off of work for this Christmas. I went around the house around 5am and woke everyone up. Everyone received xmas20092some very nice gifts. Brian received a new television. Both of the boys got a new Playstation 3. I got a painting of the Pensacola Bay area that I asked for. Susan received some nice boots that she had her eye on for awhile. After everyone was done opening gifts, Susan cooked a nice ham dinner. The photograph on the left is of Susan and I on Christmas morning.

KISS Concert

On October 19, 2009, Susan and I went to a Kiss concert in Pensacola. I was able to get kissconcerttwo free tickets at the last moment. Buckcherry opened for Kiss. This was our second time seeing Buckcherry. Kiss sounded good. They put on quite a pyrotechnic show. At the concert we ran into two of our friends, Maria and Jessica. Mall Ball 2009

On February 7, 2009, we attended the Mall Ball. We have become accustomed to going to the Mallmallball2009 Ball each year. We saw many of our friends at the mall ball. This year, three of the four Pensacola crime scene analysts were at the mall ball. After the mall ball several people from the ball went to Seville Quarter to continue dancing the night away.

Christmas 2008

For Christmas 2008, we stayed home for a Pensacola Christmas. I had to work during the day.xmas2008 However, I was able to come home and spend time with the family. Susan’s mother was able to join us from Montgomery, AL. Here is a photograph of Susan and her mom Christmas morning. On Christmas Eve, the boys opened two presents. They got a tent and a tent light for camping off of the boat next summer. The following day, everyone woke up very early to see what Santa brought. The kids got many gifts that they have wanted for some time. We opened presents before I had to go to work. Even the pets made out this year!
